Maria generally does not enjoy reading since it's hard for her to sit down and focus on one thing that long but she does like reading when she really enjoys the book. Maria also does not have much free time on her hands because of how much dance she does, plus she needs time for homework so she usually doesn't read at home. Since Maria isn't the biggest reader she doesn't read normally. If Maria does find a book she enjoys then she will finish it but usually she will start a few books to find one that draws her attention. Even though reading isn't Maria's favorite hobby she will read if it's mandatory, so Maria doesn't usually fake read in school but she is sure that she has fake read in school at least once or twice in her school career. Reading for Maria is sometimes hard for her because she is a slower reader than most, plus reading was hard for her when she was younger learning to read. Seeing that reading can be a bit challenging for Maria at times she normally doesn't go for the most challenging books but books that she enjoys. When reading Maria can zone out and forget where she is on the page but she always gets right back on track.
Currently Maria is not reading a book just because she is getting back into the routine of school and dance but would like to start a book soon. Over the summer Maria read three books, one of the books she read was The Little Sister by Raymond Chandler, another book she read was The Ice Storm by Rick Moody, the last book Maria read over the summer was How To Read Literature LIke A Professor by Thomas C Foster. When Maria reads she usually forgets to look at the authors name so she doesn't really have a favorite author but she does enjoy John Green books. In Maria's household she is surrounded by lots of book because her mom and brother are very big readers, so if she had to estimate how many books are in her house she would say about 40 or 50 books. If Maria had to describe herself has a reader she would say she is a reader who likes the idea of reading but sometimes finds it hard to sit down and read a book. Overall Maria does feel that she had grown as a reader over the last few years, Maria is starting to enjoy reading more and would like to continue to grow as a reader.

Maria thinks that is it not hard to learn how to write because all of the thoughts come from you, along with the creativity and where the writing goes it's all up to the person writing. So Maria thinks to learn to write you just have to write. People can write for many reasons they can write for school or on their own, they can write story's or vent their feelings. Maria think in order to write well you have to know how to draw the person reading in and make them want to read more. Maria likes writing in almost all forms sometimes she thinks research papers aren't the most fun but she doesn't mind them. Maria doesn't really know how she gets her ideas they just kind of come to her in the moment, it depends on the situation too like if she is in school and there's a topic then its easier for Maria to go off from that. Maria is open to all kinds of feed back for when she writes any kind of response can help her grow as a writer.
